5. the Asteroid Belt
Updated: Oct 1, 2021
The asteroid belt is a large circle of space rocks located between Jupiter and Mars. It is made of HUGE asteroids grouped together that once hit planets and dwarf planets.
The asteroid belt is also what separates the inner planets from the outer planets, the gas planets from the rocky planets, the small planets from the big planets and. the 🔥 hot planets from the 🥶 cold planets.
The asteroids are made of rock and metal and they are all irregularly shaped. This means they are not all the same size and are funny shaped.
In the asteroid belt there is a dwarf planet called Ceres and that dwarf planet is the 2nd biggest dwarf planet (Pluto is the biggest) in the solar system! it is 473 km wide! But that’s nothing compared to Earth (the only planet with organic life).
it is a good topic
