3. Mars

Updated: Mar 6, 2022

Mars is a planet that scientists and probes have been studying for years! You might think mars is human friendly, but you are going off track. Temperatures drop to minus 81 degrees!

Its average distance from the sun is 142 million miles! Its average speed in orbiting the sun is 14.5miles per second. That’s 84,000 kilometres per hour! it's fast compared to Jupiter, which takes a whopping 12 years to orbit! but it is slow compared to the other inner planets because Mars' orbit is 687 days and Earth is 365 as everybody knows.

Imagine being able to run 14.5 miles in a second. That is almost three times as fast as the international space station orbits the Earth (17,000 miles per hour, 5 miles per second). Mars is fast.

The diameter of Mars is 4,220 miles (6779 km) which makes it smaller than Earth. It would take more than six of Mars to fill one Earth because Earth is 12,742 km wide! they are big celestial objects.

Its tilt of axis is 25 degrees. it is bigger than Earth's tilt of axis because Earth's axis is on a 23. 5 degree tilt.

If you lived on Mars, you would be much younger than you would be if you lived on Earth. It is because of the time it takes for Mars to orbit the sun. also when your birthday comes it lasts 1 day, no hours and 37 minutes. 37 minutes longer. may as well stay on Earth!!

A year on Mars is 687 earth days. A year on mars is almost twice as long as on a year on earth. Like as I said, Mars' year is 687 earth days

How much gravity on mars? It is about 0.375 time that of Earth. You could beat the high jump world record without training.

Its temperature is average 81 degrees F. You can’t breathe the air. The atmosphere is mostly carbon dioxide and some water vapor.

Mars has 2 moons, their names are Phobos and Deimos. Phobos is 13.8 miles (22.2km) and Daimios is 7.8 miles (12.6km).

If you weighed 100 Lbs (45kg) on Earth, you would only weigh 38 Lbs (17kg) on Mars!! The core of mars may be similar to earth's core, but its exact structure is not known yet.

One day I think humans will walk on Mars. NASA and SpaceX are aiming to be there in 2030

A very interesting article about Mars. It will take a spacecraft many months to get from Earth to Mars.
