23. Richard Branson's Trip to Space

Earlier this month, billionaire Richard Branson made his childhood dream of going to space come true. He shot up into space in his own rocket that he had been working on, with his team, for years!! This is a special moment in history because these people that were on this flight were not trained to be astronauts. Also, it is the first time people have gone to space from a rocket powered plane that has been launched from another plane

Sir Richard Branson made the Virgin company years ago and has been building passenger jets ever since. Until now, because he has now made a space plane that he himself, traveled to space inside it. because he is a billionaire, he could afford building

this giant plane.

NASA defines an astronaut as a pilot or person that has flown higher than 80km in the sky. The international definition of the edge of space is 100 km high. If you have been in a passenger jet and you are thinking that you could be on this plane because it goes higher, then you are wrong! Passenger jets go about 10 km high.

Nobody knows what is going to come next for space exploration. Maybe another Virgin galactic flight, maybe space hotels? Nobody knows. Maybe NASA knows what is coming up next for themselves?
